When we launched the Shop-Trak Mobile beta, the goal was simple: Operators could clock into a job and clock out from any device with a browser, no app to install. That fixed the timekeeping dead zone: the far corner of the floor where labor data goes to die.
But clocking on and off is only half of what happens at a work center. Operators also need to say how much they made and when the operation is done. Until now, that still meant a trip back to a fixed PC.
Two new capabilities in the beta close that gap.
Quantity update
Operators can now report quantities right from the webpage: good parts and scrap, partway through a run or at the end. No more waiting for a job to finish to get an update. The numbers go straight into SyteLine while the work is still fresh, so job costing reflects what actually happened instead of what someone remembered an hour later.
Operation complete
When the work is finished, operators can mark the operation complete and close it out from the same screen. Materials backflush automatically on completion, with no separate issue transactions and no cleanup later. The job moves forward the moment the operator says it's done, not the next time they happen to be near a workstation.
Why it matters
Together, these turn Shop-Trak Mobile from a mobile clock into a mobile transaction. An operator can start a job, report what they built, and close the operation completely, without ever leaving their station. Fewer orphaned transactions for supervisors to chase. Cleaner labor and quantity data in SyteLine. And one less reason for anyone to walk forty feet to a PC.
